Fees

Monthly fees are due the 1st of each month and must be paid by post-dated cheques. All fees include GST. A fee of $20.00 will be charged for each returned cheque. There is a 2% per month charge for overdue accounts, minimum of a $1.00 charge per month. Sessional fees are fees for a complete course numbering 8 to 10 weeks. There are no refunds for sessional fees.

Withdrawal from Class

Fees will be refunded to the nearest complete month. There will be a $10.00 administration fee for each class dropped or added after September 30th. If a student withdraws from class after November 1st the full price of the costume will be due upon withdrawal. You may cancel this registration agreement at anytime within 14 days after signing it by registered letter or notice by personal delivery to the studio.

Studio Cancellation

Classes cancelled due to studio obligations such as workshops, exams, competitions, etc. will not be rescheduled. Cancellations due to weather, instructor’s illness, etc. will be rescheduled to another appropriate time.

Missed Classes & Attendance

There will not be any refunds for students who miss classes. The only exception is a long-term medical problem. Regular attendance is expected and appreciated. Students who do not attend regularly may be required to sign up for private lessons. Students who are taking exams must meet attendance requirements to be entered for their exam. A student’s absence affects the entire class. Competitive students who do not meet attendance expectations may not be able to compete.

Minimum Class Size & Schedule Changes

Classes that do not meet the minimum number of students required (4) will be cancelled at the discretion of the studio. The schedule is subject to change.

Injury

Students and/or parents assume responsibility for injuries incurred during normal classes or studio events. The studio or teacher should be informed of any activity or exercise that a student cannot participate in. Any injuries must be reported to the studio immediately.

Recital

All students except sessional participants will perform in the annual recital in June.

Costumes

The recital will involve a costume. A costume deposit of $50.00 per class will be collected by post-dated cheque prior to November 1st of the current season. The balance is payable when the costume package is distributed. Every effort is made to keep the costume fees reasonable.

Examinations

All students registered in exam classes are eligible, but will be entered at the teacher’s discretion. Students are responsible for examination fees, dress requirements and transportation to the examination center.

Suspension and Expulsion

The studio reserves the right to suspend or expel any student who disturbs class.
